ANSWERS TO BUYER FAQs

1) Can I list a highly technical specification?

Your specification can be as long as you want, and can include pictures and illustrations.

2) What if I am unsure exactly what specifications to include, for example, category. Do you offer assistance?

Your specifications are likely to fall into a main category, followed by smaller sub-categories. So long as you enter the main category accurately, you will be attracting the right genre of seller. If you do need assistance in this area, we can be contacted at info@tenderbid.co.uk

3) Do I have the right to choose who bids for my business?

All auctions are carried out on an anonymous basis, which ensures competitive bidding. You can, however, specify sellers who you do not wish to participate, and we will exclude them from the bidding system. Similarly, you can nominate those sellers who you would like to participate. (See Q7)

4) Do I have to take the lowest bid?

You do not have to accept the lowest bid. Once the auction has been concluded, you can review the bids and decide for yourself with whom you would rather do business. It may be that, for whatever reason, you would not want to trade with the winner, therefore, it is discretionary.

5) Can I stop the auction at any time?

Yes, however, if such a situation arises within 120 hours of the scheduled start of the auction, a fee would still be payable in the sum of 50% of the commission that would have been charged had the auction been held, and a fee of £100 for the withdrawal of a Direct auction.

6) How do I know that I am getting the best price for a given product or service?

The very nature of an auction ensures that you obtain the best price for goods/services in the market at that point in time.

7) What about sellers who currently supply my Company?

It really makes no difference as to whether or not you are already trading with a participating seller, because bids are made anonymously. The bidder will not know who you are until the conclusion of the auction, (see also Q4).In any event, it is more than likely that you will be purchasing their goods/services at a lower rate than previously. Therefore, it is advisable to include existing suppliers in the list of potential bidders prior to the auction.

8) How do I start an auction?

By deciding what you wish to purchase and posting the specification on the site. When we have checked the details, we schedule a date for the auction, with your approval. The auction process is automatic.

9) How do I receive responses from sellers?

Any responses from sellers are channelled through Tenderbid prior to the auction. We conduct the auction on your behalf, each bid appears on the screen as it is made, until the expiration of the time allowed. You are then put in touch with the successful bidder.

10) What if I need to ask the seller a question?

You can communicate with sellers through Tenderbid, by email, fax, telephone, or post.
