ANSWERS TO GENERAL FAQ's
1) What makes Tenderbid better than other online purchasing
systems?
The Tenderbid system is very secure, all participants, prior to becoming
members, are credit checked and assessed on ability to supply. The
emphasis of the system used for a Reverse Auction is to bring the
purchase price down as opposed to up, as in a Direct Auction.

What benefits does Tenderbid offer?
Tenderbid makes life easier for buyers, it also saves on administration
costs, wages, travelling expenses, research time and other overheads,
plus the actual cost savings on the purchase, compared to other
conventional purchasing methods.

How do I register?
Simply fill in and send the online registration form, or the printed
version if preferred, and send it to us together with your membership
fee. Once we have processed your registration details, we will forward
an e-mail to you with your username and password.

What does my membership fee allow me to do?
It gives you access to all member areas of the site and advance
notification of any relevant forthcoming auctions. You will be able
to view and follow the progress of each auction in which you are
a participant. You can request and receive assistance on any matter
relating to the buying and selling of goods and services using the
Tenderbid site, for a period of twelve months.

What computer hardware/software do I need to participate?
Although just about any specification of PC from 386 upwards will
suffice, keeping abreast of "live" auctions will best
be achieved by ensuring that your internet connection is as fast
as possible, i.e. a 56k modem with IE 4 or later, and Netscape equivalent.

What happens if I have problems during an auction?
If you have a problem with your internet connection during an auction,
we are unable to remedy it, but, if you have registered a bid before
you lose connection, and there are no further bids, you will of
course be notified by e-mail if your last bid was successful. As
a safeguard against a crash or a disconnection, may we suggest that
you appoint a proxy bidder, or use, say, a Fax machine.

Why don't we just use our existing purchasing arrangements?
Tenderbid makes life easier for buyers, it also saves on administration

What are the legal implications?
From a legal standpoint, any transaction entered into using the
Tenderbid site, carries the same contractual obligations as defined
under English Contract Law. It follow, therefore, that the seller
has the same obligations with regard to goods of merchantable quality,
as if he were selling them to you by any other method, your rights
are not affected.

How can I be assured as to the quality of goods and reliability
of participants?
We take great care to process the information given on your registration
form as thoroughly as possible, we have to rely on the accuracy
and integrity of the answers that we receive thereon to form an
assessment as to the integrity of the participants. We take all
reasonable precautions, but cannot give a guarantee.

How long does an auction take?
Auctions can be of varying length, depending on the number of members
participating, but generally a matter of hours.

Does Tenderbid conduct "normal" auctions?
The Tenderbid system is capable of carrying out many types of auctions.
Should a Direct Auction (a normal auction) be required, we will
conduct it on your behalf.

Will my personal and corporate information be kept confidential?
Tenderbid have notified the Data Protection Commissioner that they
process data of a personal nature, and that they will comply with
the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Can I register as a buyer and a seller?
When you register as either a buyer, or a seller, and become a member,
you can act as a buyer in one auction, and act as a seller in another
one. You cannot be a buyer and a seller in the same auction.

What happens when an auction finishes?
All participants are notified of the results of an auction, either
by e-mail, fax, post or telephone, depending upon your stated preference.
The buyer and successful bidder are put in touch with each other
to complete the transaction.

How do I pay registration fee and commission?
The Membership fee is payable by cheque, on registration, through
the normal postal service. Commission payments are sent in the same
manner, within 14 days of invoice.

What if I forget my password?
Go to the login section and select the "Forgot Your Password"
button, we will e-mail you your password within 24 hours.

Are there any limits as to how much is auctioned?
There is no upper limit, but we would suggest that at the lower
end, it may not be viable for you much below £2000.
